Equipment Modifications
-With the Kohler CH740 replacement engine, we provide a wiring harness pigtail which simplifies the wiring; however, some minor modifications are required. We provide detailed instructions which walk you through the wiring.
-You may need to drill a hole in your engine mounting carriage for convenient oil drain access.
***PLEASE NOTE*** – It is critical to follow all the manufacturer’s recommendations and service bulletins prior to beginning installation of a new engine. There are service bulletins for the John Deere F687 that may affect your engine installation, operation, and longevity. There may be others, but specifically John Deere solution numbers 77489 and 45734 are important to protect the longevity of your engine. Please verify with your John Deere dealership that all service bulletins, recalls, solutions or any other maintenance that is required for your machine is complete prior to beginning engine installation.
